As a Database Administrator you will play an important role primarily focused on the operational aspect of databases. Ensuring that databases are available, performant, and secure. Your main responsibilities will be to: • Supervise the database’s performance and make adjustments as needed. • Ensure that the database run smoothly – tasks like backups, updates, and patches. • Monitor developer commits for schema changes, develop, test and deploy migrations. • Implement and maintain database security protocols. • Design and execute strategies for database backup and disaster recovery. • Handle database replication and other scaling techniques. • Work in close collaboration with developers and data engineers to ensure that the database meets application needs and is optimized for their queries. • Set up monitoring tools to keep an eye on database health, performance metrics, and set up alerts for potential issues. • Maintain documentation about the database setup, configurations, procedures, and any changes made. Your profile: • At least 10 years experience as Database Administrator, 3 years with PostgreSQL • Solid knowledge of database maintenance and performance tuning; • Experience with migrations and security control, monitoring and alerting. • Knowledge of backup and recovery techniques, replication and scaling. • Proficiency in writing procedures, documentation about database changes, setups and configurations. • Good soft skills: communication; time – management; proactivity; prioritizing; • Required level of English – B2.
